One of Deepbridge Capital's Life Sciences Investment Managers, Ben Carter, recently spoke to IFA Magazine about the role of an investment manager and goes into more detail of the dealflow, networks and sector specific expertise of the Deepbridge Life Sciences EIS portfolio.
Ben was asked by IFA Magazine's Editor, Peter Wilson, about what the day-to-day roles and responsibilities of an investment manager at Deepbridge are like.
Ben said that he can sum it up in three key elements.
1. The first is sourcing high-quality deals, looking carefully at early stage companies in need of investment.
2. The second part is ensuring those companies meet Deepbridge’s strict due diligence process.
3. The third aspect is to support those companies post investment & this can come in the form of sitting on the board of a company. Ben explained that within Deepbridge they have a wide network of expertise and it’s vital to ensure that the right person is supporting the business post-investment.
Peter Wilson also delves into the opportunities created through networks, the importance of world-class university research & development and why due diligence is essential with Ben, all within the IFA Magazine's article.
