Deepbridge Joins Chester Raft Race

Deepbridge is due to set sail on the River Dee, Chester by entering into the annual Chester Raft Race, a 1/4 mile race on a homemade raft, from Chester Meadows to the Groves on July 2nd, 2023 at 10am. 

Each year, the Chester Raft Race has a different theme, this years theme being Superheroes. 

The Chester Raft Race is the perfect opportunity for team building and bonding. Previous winners of the annual Chester Raft Race have included the likes of Crocky Trail, Chester Auto Services, and Sandbach Cave & Mountain Rescue. 

The 2023 award categories for the raft race event include: 

• Overall winner: The fastest and best-themed raft. 

• Ladies only: The fastest team made up of only women. 

• Fastest hostelry: The fastest pub, restaurant, or hotel on the river Dee. 

• Fastest innovation: The fastest rafts that are not using traditional paddle power. 

• Greenest raft: The most eco-friendly build. 

• Titanic ultimate sinkers award: The fastest sinking raft. 

• People’s choice award: A public poll voted post-event on the website. 

• Additionally, some categories may have runners up awards. The overall winner will now be scored based on both time and theme, with 70% weighting on time and 30% weighting on theme. 

The Chester Raft Race is a charity event that has raised £500,000 for local charities in our lifetime. This years event Charity will be SHARE. 

SHARE’S aims are simple – they support families in crisis and people who are homeless in North Wales and Cheshire and assist refugees fleeing for their lives, wherever they are in the world.
