Picturepath, which is part of the Deepbridge Life Sciences EIS fund, is aiming to help autistic children during lockdown through an online app that founder, Richard Nurse, originally created for his son with the aim to reduce his anxiety.
Since school closures, Picturepath have received an increasingly high number of downloads for their app whilst parents adapt to homeschooling their children. The aim of the app is to make coordinating lessons and activities for children easier in order to relieve their stress and maintain a routine.
Richard Nurse commented:
“The feedback we’ve had over the past weeks has been immense, and something I could have only dreamt of when I started work on the app. In what is an incredibly stressful time for families, especially those caring for children with special educational needs, I’m delighted that our product has been able to help in some way.”
