We are delighted to announce that Sky Medical Technology Ltd, a portfolio company within the Deepbridge Technology Growth EIS portfolio, has been awarded the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation.
This highly respected accolade is one of the UK’s most significant business honours, recognising outstanding innovation and commercial success. Sky Medical Technology is one of just 197 organisations to receive the King’s Award this year, highlighting its position as a leader in medical technology innovation.
At the heart of this achievement is Sky Medical’s groundbreaking geko® device, a wearable, non-invasive therapy that uses proprietary neuromuscular electrostimulation technology to increase blood flow in the lower limb. Clinically proven to more than double the rate of chronic wound healing, the geko device is transforming patient care for hard-to-heal wounds such as venous leg ulcers. Its adoption is growing rapidly across NHS Trusts, international healthcare systems, and home-care settings.
The geko device not only accelerates healing and reduces pain but also delivers measurable benefits for healthcare providers, including shorter treatment cycles, reduced nursing hours, and lower overall care costs. With FDA clearance, NICE guidance, and integration into standard care pathways, Sky Medical Technology is setting a new benchmark in chronic wound management.
Bernard Ross, CEO and Founder of Sky Medical Technology, commented:
“We are deeply honoured to receive the King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation. This recognition reflects the exceptional work of our research, development, and commercial teams, and reaffirms our mission to deliver evidence-based innovations that truly change lives.”
Ian Warwick, Managing Partner at Deepbridge, added:

The award was officially presented at Sci-Tech Daresbury, where Sky Medical Technology has been headquartered for over 15 years. The ceremony brought together partners, suppliers, investors, and team members to celebrate this milestone achievement.
